Food: Vitamins

Let's talk in this article which are vitamins, where they are and what they are.
We all talk about them but really know little of them. Vitamins are nutrients necessary for animal life, and therefore their absence, as its excess in some cases can cause serious illness.
Ingested in the diet in very small quantities when compared with the intake of other nutrients. When a vitamin is missing from the diet or ingested in small quantities, may soon appear serious diseases. Vitamins are divided into soluble (fat soluble) and vitamin A, and soluble (water soluble) and vitamin C. Different vitamins are going to have one or more functions in the body, will enhance the integrity of the skin, promote good vision, proper bone growth, and so on.
Here we describe the functions and sources where some of the most important vitamins for our pets:
Vitamin A: its main function focuses on vision, growth and disease resistance. We're going to find in the fish liver oil, liver and eggs.
Vitamin D: it will facilitate the absorption of calcium and is involved in the metabolism of phosphorus and calcium. The main sources of this vitamin are fish liver oil and eggs.
Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant and prevents muscle strain. We'll find it in milk, eggs and cereal germ.
Vitamin K: important in the synthesis of clotting factors from blood. Her sources are fish, liver and the seeds.
Vitamin B1 (thiamin) helps in the functioning of the nervous system and energy metabolism. Foods that contain it are cereals, bran and yeast.
Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) in the metabolism of essential amino acids (proteins) and lipids (fats). Also appear in cereals, milk and yeast.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) has several functions, appears in the metabolism of proteins, lipids, carbohydrates and iron. We'll find it in cereals, milk, fish and yeast.
Vitamin PP (nicotinic acid): role focuses on the integrity of tissues, primarily in the skin. Appears in cereals in the yeast, fish and eggs.
· Folic Acid is important to its action on protein metabolism and hemoglobin synthesis. In yeast and liver is where we'll find more quantity.
Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) acts on the protein metabolism and hemoglobin synthesis. It ingest by eating fish and dairy products.
· Pantothenic acid: its main function is the integrity of tissues. Appears in the liver, fish, dairy products and rice.
Vitamin H (biotin) is used for skin integrity, for the metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. The contains the yeast and other natural ingredients.
Vitamin B4 (choline): work in lipid metabolism and the protection of iron. Appears on natural ingredients.
Finally we say that an excess of vitamin A and D in the diet (such as diets based on chicken livers are rich in vitamin A) can be counterproductive to the health of our pet.
Finally we must remember that the major source of B vitamins is brewer's yeast, and encourage their use to improve the appearance of the dog's fur.
